Dr. Wilhelm Tenner’s practice – Private Practice and Specialist Doctor

Specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (Neuropediatrics)

The specialized range of services covers the entire field of child and adolescent psychiatry.

Congenital disorders (genetic diseases, perinatally acquired conditions, central movement and coordination disorders). Support for families with chronically ill children.

Regulation disorders (such as colic and other sleep disorders during infancy), attachment disorders, developmental disorders, learning disorders (specific developmental disorders, dyslexia, and similar conditions), school difficulties of all kinds.

Affective disorders (disorders where depression is the main feature) and sleep disorders, anxiety (phobias) and stress-related disorders, as well as so-called ‘somatoform disorders,’ where physical symptoms and emotional issues are closely linked in a psychosomatic sense (e.g., bedwetting, stomach pains, etc.), adjustment problems, all eating disorders, personality development disorders, and gender identity disorders that require medical treatment (gender dysphoria, gender incongruence) are integral components of the psychiatric spectrum.

All behavioral and emotional disorders that begin in childhood and adolescence are of particular focus. Hyperkinetic disorders (ADHD), post-traumatic disorders, selective mutism, tic disorders, bedwetting, and soiling are some of the conditions typically addressed.

Crisis interventions and school-related problems of all kinds are common issues. If necessary, a communication channel with the school will also be established, and sometimes a specialist medical report or a private assessment will need to be provided.

The inclusion of the psychosocial environment broadens the scope to also address issues such as parental conflicts, problems relating to adoptive and foster children, bullying (e.g., school bullying), problems with teachers, and similar concerns.

Medical work with the child itself, the involvement of the parents, as well as networking and collaboration in the interdisciplinary field, are of course essential. Cooperation with highly experienced colleagues in the fields of child psychology, occupational therapy, speech therapy, physiotherapy, and early intervention is naturally provided when necessary.
