Psychotherapeutic work

I am presently a candidate of the Austrian Association of Individual Psychology and medical psychotherapist. In certain cases I offer individual psychotherapy to children and adolescents.

A frequency of at least one session per week is required. I see psychotherapeutic work as an supportive process in a child's or adolescent's personal development.

The reinforcement of personality, encouraging a child to show more self-esteem, enabling a child to become more resilient are some of the main goals of this process. It is very important to me to create a "haven of trust and familiarity" in which a child can feel safe. Depending on the child's age, playful and creative action may be promoted. With adolescents the focus is also on discussion.

Often psychotherapy places are not immediately available, since many patients are in psychotherapeutic treatment for many years. Before psychotherapy begins there is a diagnostic process of familiarization and a joint decision is made with the child/adolescent, the parents or guardians and the therapists to begin therapy and to define the goals.
