My professional services encompass the entire ranged of child and adolescent psychiatry.
Congenital disorders (hereditary illnesses, perinatal illnesses, central movement and coordination disorders). Support of families with children suffering from chronic illnesses. Disorders of regulation (for instance, "cry-babies, sleeping disorders in babies and infants, partial performance disorders, legasthenia, etc.), all types of school problems.
Affective disorders (disorders in which depression is salient) and sleeping problems, anxiety (phobia), stress disorders and so-called "somatoform disorders" in which physical symptoms and psychological factors are clearly linked (bedwetting, stomachache, etc.) Adaptation problems, all manner of eating disorders, disorders of personality development are integral parts of the psychiatric spectrum. One special focus are all behavioral and emotional disorders originating in childhood and adolescence: hyperkinetic disorders (ADHS), posttraumatic disorders, selective mutism, tic disorders, bedwetting may be cited in this connection.
Crisis interventions, all types of school problems are situations I frequently encounter. If necessary, I also try to communicate with the school and in some instances it is necessary to write an expertise or special medical report.
Taking into account the psychosocial environment also means addressing the conflicts experienced by the child's parents, adoption and foster childcare, bullying (=mobbing in school), problems with teachers, etc.
The medical treatment of the child, the inclusion of the parents but also networking and cooperation within an interdisciplinary field are all indispensable elements. Cooperation with highly qualified colleagues from different areas such as child psychology, ergotherapy, logopedics, physiotherapy, and early intervention are all offered if necessary.
